Oeuffice

Thoughtful, sensitive (and very good looking work form Oeuffice.)
"For its first collection, Oeuffice proposes "totems for living", monolithic objects that dominate the habitat, yet remain entirely functional. These objects are inspired by the geometries that govern architecture, and conceived as domestic altarpieces, infused with a sense of utility, grace and wit. In other words, these "totems" become dominant and narrative objects around which one is invited to stop, to contemplate and to display personal artifacts of importance."

An nice little image set for anyone (like me) who has a penchant for a map or two.

Very cool, accurate, exoskeletal new piece from Tim Lewis.

Arnaud Depeyre

The main focus regarding ceilings for the past 15 years has been on/off relationship down lighters, and thus very boring. Arnaud Depeyre experiments with the forgotten and ignored plane, transforming the dynamics of the space completely. There is lovely rhythm and interaction with the vertical surfaces here, real energy and intent.

Bram Boo

I have posted about Bram Boo before, but he is good, so here are a couple more pieces (from his 'Overdose' collection.)

Nico Economidis

A couple of interesting explorative objects from Nico Economidis. I particularly like the room divider (top). I am guessing you can manipulate the thread on the loom to affect the opacity of the object.

The Modern House

We are going through the process of buying a new house at the moment. It should be fun and pleasant, not stressful, its going to be your home! Its insane, but this is not always the case, because whilst most estate agents are fine, the bad ones are infuriating and disruptive.
The modern House seem different, have real integrity, very good taste, (and an interesting blog to boot.)

Martin Creed at Sketch

Dynamic and boundary blurring exhibition from Martin Creed to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Sketch.
"Through a series of new works both functional and decorative, Creed will create an environment that is at once as an exhibition, an artwork, a restaurant and an Events space. Exemplary of the logical and welcoming systems that recur throughout his work, the floor, walls and furniture will take the form of new artworks inspired by the boundaries of art and functionality.
Work No. 1347 will consist of 96 different types of marble, in a formation of zigzagging lines across the floor, along with a series of paintings and large-scale wall paintings. Work No. 1343 is a new work specially made for the restaurant in which every single piece of cutlery, glass, chair and table is different. This work brings together a mix of the mass produced and hand-crafted, from classic antiques to contemporary design from all around the world."

Jasper Morrison

The Jasper Morrison shop 'product of the month' is normally very interesting and fully valid, and maybe the new exhibition may also turn out that way. But surely the latest theme of 'chopping boards' is simply too narrow a subject? Very happy to be proved wrong on this one, so will try and catch it.
